Black CPS Talk!!!
This is this part # 1825899C93 for a black CPS which I got from International. Is this going to work on any 7.3 regardless of year?
I'm just trying to figure this out and I want to have a black CPS for a spare as well.
Any thoughts?
EDIT: Its close, but not the same. Here's what I have 1821720C99. My dad just put one of these in his 97 and swears it runs better and got a little better mileage (not saying its gonna do the same for our trucks or others).

Make sure you keep a spare handy. The ones from the parts stores have been known to be even less reliable than the Ford ones.

Re: Does the black cps sensor really help anything

My supplier asked the tech he found them from to look up the part number for the 1999 and up before we ordered the ones we have now and what we have sold before. IH1821720C99 is what the computer data gave him for 1999 and up.
We asked what the actual differences between the C93 & C99 were and they said it was that one had gold on the contacts and the other had silver. They had no other reasons. I have asked my supplier to look into this for me further so I can give ya'll an answer.
Theres' not many left of the C99's in the country and we were told Zero on the C93's.
I'll keep you updated on what I find on the C99.

I went and had a nice long talk with my IH buddy about this. Had some time to kill...and drooled over the new Lone Star diecast truck...but I digress...
The base number represents the part...in this case 1821720. Any parts that begin with this number are completely interchangable.
The Cxx represents the iteration of the part. In this case...the C93 was the first iteration of the part. The last iteration was C99. C99 is the latest and greatest iteration of this part.
He looked up 1821720C99 for me...and it rolls over now to a completely different part number. He went and got it for me...and its the grey cps.
So...any 1821720Cxx sensors out there are wholly compatible with the 7.3L motor...OBS or Superduty...and they are the black cps.
He has a call placed into IH to find out exactly what was different in the "iterations" for me. It got him to thinking as well.
Anyway...the cps you got from Jody is just fine for your truck. No worries...

i also know swamps was asking for good black CPS's to test and see if they can find the weak spot in these things to..
I'm still looking for more. I know Riff is selling a bunch on here, but those are going to go fast. Anyway keep checking e-bay guys they seem to turn up every so often.
