Hey all, 2005 f150 lariat screw. Last couple of days I did the DIY intake mod (gotts mod), drop in K&N filter and today I installed the superchip tuner on 87 octane setting. After I get going its kinda fun to drive but now I got a heck of a hesitation from stop to start (2 second delay). It wasnt there before and I am just curious if I should play with the tuner or what do you all think. I am a little nervous using the tuner not sure what the risks really are, damage wise. Anyhelp would be appreciated, thanks.

does it hesitate if you punch it or driving normal? i dont see why the tuner would cause a hesitation...my 04 f150 hesitates for about 1.5 sec if i punch it and all ive done to it was a k&n filter but remember its a 6000 lb truck not a sports car...but damage wise i dont see why there would be damage...but what kind of hesitation is it? whats it doing?
If I go back to stock there is still minor hesitation but no where near like it is with the chip. I dont know if messing with shift firmness or stuff like that will affect anything or not. I do realize its a truck, not a car, I also drive a 2008 f350 all jacked up and thats not a car either but its quicker off the line than the 5.4. Its been years since I have done anything with a gas job and dont know what I should expect, thanks. As far as damage being done I am a worry wart and I have been brainwashed into believing from the dealerships that you can hurt the motor with a chip but I am trying one anyway. Thanks
It could be that the tuner does not have the latest upgrade for your PCM. I would contact them about this. They should be able to upgrade the tuner to match the strategy of your PCM and the hesitation should be gone.
