I'm looking at installing a keyless entry system on my 1993 Xlt. I am curious if any of you guys have had or have installed a setup like this? The local installer wants $145 installed, and it takes about 2 hours. This seems a bit much, so I thought about doing it myself. JcWhitney sells a kit, and I know it involves quite a bit of time. No problem. What are your opinions?

I've installed a couple of aftermarket keyless entries (93 F150 XLT & 94 Lincoln Mark VIII). They are not for the faint at heart. It helps if you know some electric theory. The one on the F150 was a keyless entry with dome light, starter kill and anti theft features. I hooked up a remote starter the the third channel and a remote headlight control on channel two. The one on the Lincoln was had all of the above features and then some. I had complete wiring diagrams on both vehicles. I also put a one touch down on my F150 for both windows. I help with any information you may need if you decide to do it yourself.
