On "Crank and Chrome" a few weeks ago I saw that they had a car dipped in a chemical tank to remove all the paint, primer, and rust. Does anyone know anything about this; like what it's called, how much it costs, how common it is, and where you can get it done?
We have a local place here in Vancouver that does it. The place is
called redi-strip. I inquired about getting my frame done and it was
quoted at 900 Canadian.
They have a website with a bunch of information.

There's a place in N. Fla. We originally wanted to have our entire '41 pickup dipped, but that was gonna be around $3,000 and there was over a 3 month wait.
Decided to go with using our own time & sweat and sandblast the whole thing.
The folks at the below website will not only strip the old off they will do an e-coat (electrically coated primer) dip just like the OEMs do. They have prices listed on their site. If I remember right it was approximately $2000 to have it stripped and ecoated.
