I have never believed there are "dumb" questions, but this may border on it.
I am building a 390 with Edlebrock alum heads, RPM intake, Comp 275DEH cam and lifters, new Crane rockers and pushrods, making about 9.5-1 compression. My question concerns the distributor. Do I just keep the old one and perhaps replace the points with a Petronix Ignitor, or replace the entire distributor?
Blue, you can do either. But if I were this far into an engine, I might well put the pertonix in a new or rebuilt points dizzy, or at least check the bushings in the dizzy you have. A duraspark distributor is nice also, but you have to have a few more wires and a box for that. DinosaurFan, at his Dad's house
