I just bought a 1990 f150 and the tailgate hinges are rusty and the left is broken so the tailgate falls when opened. I bought an aftermarket hinge kit but this looks like plastic/rubber and doesn't make sense how it will replace all hinge parts.
So far I haven't been able to locate any parts for this problem other than trying to find an older truck at the salvage yard without rusted hardware - seems impossible.
If anyone has a solution or can give me some idea how the Dorman hinge kit works I would appreciate it.
