Hi all.
i just wanted to start a post on tips and tricks anyone may have .
specifically on 73-79 trucks.
there are probably a lot of people that have something to share.something new 73 - 79 owners might not know.
like rear glass from 73 to 96 fits.
Or that seats from up to a 96 are bolt ins

(But, use the truck's original year seal, Not the donor's truck's year.)
(Quotes came from the tips thread, but I didn't want to hijack their thread.)
I want to put a tinted sliding back glass in my truck, but would prefer to put a new rubber seal on the window rather than mess with the old seal. Where is a good source for the seals for these old trucks?
TIA
BTW - I found a really good write up about changing the rear glass, but it looks like they used the seal from the donor truck:
So everyone pretty much agrees that I should get the seal for my 78 F250? What would be the difference between the seal for the f250 and the donor truck?
With 32 years on it, rest assured it does. And you say it's shot.
There are only cosmetic differences on the seals. Lower trim levels get an all-black seal. Higher level trims get the chrome insert in the middle.
Yep, this is correct, i am about to do the same up grade with my 77 F150 Explorer custom. I am looking at getting the window and seal from LMC TRUCK. I just don't care about the $20 over size fee they all charge, but I fugure I only have to do it one time!
