Talking Tail shaft

Ok 85 motor and trans are on the deck next to the90 motor and trans to swap stuff over to the 90
On the 90 trans it has the 11/14 tail shaft and the 85 has 10 1/2 or 1/4 (brain drain) how easy is it to change the tail shaft and houesing over, can it been done with tearing tranys apart or should I just have the drive line redone to fit it
all so how to I upload a pic on here
thanks people
Phil

AOD, correct? Since some of the problems with earlier boxes was lubrication, I would be reluctant to swap any parts that might have anything to do with oiling inside.... Not a trans man, so I can't say for sure what parts were changed.

Chart seems to indicate only diff in length should be the main case:

TCI - TECHNICAL INFORMATION: Transmission Dimensions

I would be more inclined to change the driveshaft....

I don't know. I don't know that much about this stuff. My expertise is in how the trans functions, not how the parts go together.

My guess is that you will need to change the housing and the output shaft. Changing the output shaft involves a complete teardown of the trans. It's the last part out of the trans and the first part in during the rebuild.
