Engine problems

The other day while driving my 03 Super Duty with a 6.0 diesel it all of a sudden started running really ruff,like it wasn't hitting on all cylinders. I let it sit for about a half hour and it started right up and ran well for a few miles and did the samething over again. I got it home and the next day I changed the fuel filters and removed the water dain plug even though I had done this a month before , thinking maybe I had gotten something in my tank, it was at freezing or above so it shouldn't have gelled up . Now the truck starts up and runs fine but will miss a little every now and then but doesn't blow black smoke out the tailpipe like when I had injectors go bad

Actually white smoke can be an issue with injectors going bad. Do you smell unburned fuel? That would be the biggest sign with injectors going bad. If something is wrong with injectors or the injectors are starved of fuel then you should be getting a cylinder contribution error(it will not throw a CEL), however your typical scan tool will not pick it up.

Lack of fuel psi I would think could also lead to what your "talking" about. Is there anything else you've noticed that might be related to this issue?
