i was wantin to buy a '99 f250 and put dually fenders and wheels on it. i found a place online that sells repop glass fenders for 695$. is that too much? could i do better at a salvage yard? help me out.
well i found the truck for a really good price and i would probably drive the truck for a while as is. i would be doing the conversion some time later.
from what I've read you'd also need the rear end, the SRW wouldn't be strong enough I don't think with the extra weight\leverage sticking out.. I'm not exactly educated on this topic but I think others can confirm
the axle isn't the problem... it will hold up the issue is the clearence or lack there of behind what will be inner wheel... so you need the dually axle and you will need a 3 or 4" spacer between the 38X11 swampers to make them fit.....the front uses a bolt on spacer from the factory so it aint hard to get but be prepared to replace th efront unit bearings more often because the extra leverage is gonna waer them out faster... the beds are differant underthe dually fender to but you could add the fenders if its lifted tall enough to clear on the inner skins...there have been several dually beds for sale on differant sites for resonable prices do to flatbed/utility conversions...hope this helps
