tire size help
i found 4 general grabber st 255/65/r16 at a great price about 1 hour from home can anyone tell me can i use these tires on my 4x4 97 expedition i have factory 255/70/r 16 or is there a big difference,sidewall hight, load cap. i dont see using a 65 sized tire vs a tire with a 70 rating ,soory thats the best i can explain thanks

The rim to tread height on the 255/65/R16 is 6.53 inches, the rim to tread height on the 255/70/R16 is 7.03 inches. That equates to about a 1 inch shorter overall height if you run the 255/65/R16's. Mounted on rim the 70 series is about 30" tall and the 65 series is about 29" tall. The 65's will work if thats the look you want?
