Exclamation Bed light

First post, second day of ownership of 2008 F150 long bed. When ever I turn the truck off the bed light stays on for several minutes. How in the heck do you get it to go out; change the time period for staying on, how, I have found no switches or any visible means to turn the darn thing off. (Truck came with no owners manual.) Tks

put in your model year and select the F-150

it will open up the current revision owners manual for your truck. I'm too lazy to look through the manual right now, but hopefully you will find the answer in there

From: Long Beach, Ms.
Try; Genuine Ford and Lincoln Mercury Parts & Service
select your vehicle
From page 91 of the owners guide

Autolamp control (if equipped)
The autolamp system provides light
sensitive automatic on-off control of
the exterior lights normally
controlled by the headlamp control.
The autolamp system also keeps the
lights on for approximately
20 seconds or, on vehicles equipped
with a message center, you can
select a delay from 0–180 seconds,
after the ignition switch is turned to
OFF.
• To turn autolamps on, rotate the control counterclockwise to automatic .
• To turn autolamps off, rotate the control clockwise to off.
If your vehicle is not equipped with a message center, then the auto
lamps can be programmed manually by:
1. Start with the ignition in OFF and the autolamps selected.
2. Turn off the autolamps by turning the headlamp switch to off.
3. Turn the ignition to ON.
4. Turn the ignition to OFF.
5. Select the autolamps by turning the headlamp switch to automatic.
Steps 2 through 5 must be performed within a 10 second period. At
this point, the headlamps and park lamps will turn on.
6. Deselect the autolamps after the desired autolamp delay time
(maximum of 3 minutes).
At this point, the headlamps and park lamps will turn off.

Thanks found a copy of users manual on e-bay for $10.00. Also found that the light is controlled by the dash intensity panel light. So if the dash light is set to off the bed light goies off when the door is closed. Tks Sabbot

Wish I had all of the neat stuff, but that stuff is on my wife's Lexus LS. I just get the dump run truck.

Tks Sabbot
