Needing 25 posts makes no sense at all. All a person has to do is randomly reply with nonsensical gibberish and be granted a signature.

Hit User CP (Control Panel) on the blue bar, then under Settings and Options there should be Edit Signature [below edit avitar]. At 135 posts it should be there for you.

25 posts keeps the spammers out of the private messaging system.
25 posts of gibberish or spam would be deleted and the user banned since it would be evident they were here for something other than information.
If I delete your last post, which was #18 for you, your post count would go back to 17.
Just like many things in the modern world, a few ruin it for everyone else.
But then again, how would you like a PM inbox full of spam every day when you signed on?
And you email notifications inbox full as well.
We all (moderators and admins) work rather hard trying to keep FTE free from all that crap.

If you have no limit then you can get spammers that come on the forum with a signuture like this (using McDonalds as an example)

I personaly would rather not see those and have to explain my truck everytime I posted.
