DATA plate ????
I've got books on older trucks but not on this '64. What I am looking for are the tranny : B, axle : A2, and the DSO : 72. It's a F-100, LWB, custom cab. Just wondering what if anything has been changed over the years. Tom

B is Ford O/D with Farner T85 or T86
A2 is 3.92 locking rear end...aka posi to use GM terminology...
DSO 72...San Jose, Ca...where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from...the trucks VIN would have an R in the 5th place which also denotes San Jose assy plant...where most of the west coast trucks were built...

BTW, VIN 4th character is the engine code...C= 292 M/D 2 bbl carb w/135HP
J would be a 223 6 cylinder , B is a 262 6 cylinder

The Borg Warner T-86 Overdrive was used on 1953 thru 1964 F100's.
The Borg Warner T-85N overdrive was used on 1965 thru 1972 F100's.
Ford used the confusing term "Locking" in parts catalogs to define Limited Slip aka Equa-Lok, Traction Lok, Power-Lok and etc.
When decoding, I use "Limited Slip" or "non Limited Slip" in place of Locking, because most peeps think of Locking as a Detroit Locker.
