Irratic Idle

Hi all,

Just started to have a problem with my 2000 EB Expedition.
The truck idles a little rough when first started and brought down to normal idle, then after driving a bit, and when I come to a stop and sit for lets say a minute or so, the idle drops from normal idle (650-700 rpms) to 100-200 rpms almost stalling then back up to normal idle running a little rough. It will do this whether in drive or nuetral , or park.
Although it drives fine without hesitation when excellerating.
Any help would be great thanks!

Kelly

may need to clean the idle air control. Had a similar problem on my '98 5.4L. It would stall if it was very cold out and the engine wasn't warm yet. Took off the idle air control cleaned it out with q-tips and carb cleaner and idles like a champ now.

I hear this is a common problem.
