460 dipstick

460 dipstick

I am not sure mine has the right dipstick, the total exact amount of oil in it right now filter and all is 5 qts. even, how much should I have in it to mark my dipstick a new full line?

F100/350's & Econolines with 460's take 6 quarts of oil with a filter change.

Passenger cars with 460's take 5.

The dipstick may be marked with a Ford ID number (example: D5AE-6750-AA)...if so, post what it is.

Since I do not know what the 460 engine came from, I cannot give you the dipstick measurements.

However...if the 460 came from a car, it will most likely have the cars dipstick.

No 460 engines were factory installed in F100/350's until 1973.

as I decided in my wierd lookin' dilly post it has an aftermarket dipstick, and I see no numbers on it. I know it has the pickup pan on itcuz it was the same size as the one from my '93 f350 i had.
