LIfting Truck
Hey whats up guys a few quick questions. I have a 99 F-150 5.4 Flareside and wanted to lift it about 2 to 3 inches and run around 33s. well i dont wanna sacrifice strength so in the back I was thinking of running skyjacker helper springs and then in the front I was lookin a skyjackers new torsion keys. Heres where Im skeptical, are these torsion keys worth it, safe and reliable. or will they just screw the front suspension up. Thanks

new torsion keys lift up the truck, with the differential. that puts the two alxe shafts at much more angle to the wheels. you may notice faster wear in the universal joints. you will need an alignment. some guys complain about binding in the axle shaft around the rubber boot. wheel bearing wear should not be different, ball joints may have less life.

Everything Steve said is true. However to run 33"s you do not need a lift at all. I was running 315's and just replaced them with 33's. The 315's did rub and the 33's for not. Crank up the torsion bars all the way then back them down about 4 turns. You will need an allignment but why pay for the skyjacker gear when you can get the same thing for free?
