I recently put this together, Its a slightly more designer version of your 6637 mod. Thought you might be interested in it. This is assmbled w/ parts from NAPA these are Spectre pieces (yeah the same crap they use in the rice rocket cars and that they sell at autozone) These are simply bigger pieces. The pieces are sold individually and are made of polished aluminum. I have a 6" long straight pipe 4" dia, and a hanger bracket (comes w/ a variety or pieces I used em to attach to the A/C compressor for stability- it also adds 2" in straight pipe length again in 4" dia, then a 4" 45 degree bend and a cotton fiber arifilter w/ a 4" fitting (any air filter with a 4" fitting would work). All pieces are held together with hose fittings similar to what you would use on an intercooler other than they are hard silicone with big hose clamps. Nice effect since the tubing streamlines the air flow more than factory black flexy pipe, for less restriction and aluminum causes a minor heat transfer affect on the air. Hope this is useful to someone.
I think I had about $150 in it buying all the pieces at NAPA at 9pm when nobody else was open that I dould have got a different intake from,... or a discount. I broke my stock intake and had to drive to work the next day at oh dark thirty.
Nice job! it looks good but myself I would not use that style filter even if it is being maintained they are still trouble I had an AFE with the same filter style and it dusted my turbo and am paying for it now.
