If the engine hydrolocked it would act as if it was locked up or there would be a noticable slowdown as it cranked over. Read over the receipt form the dealer it should say if the injector was stuck open or closed.
I checked my work sheet from Ford and it just says they did recall work and that they replaced the fuel injector for cylinder 3, still waiting to hear from the service department and what Ford told them I should do next.
Talked to Ford Canada customer service today. Wow, that was enlightening, NOT!
The first thing she says is that she isn`t technically sound, so I know this should be good. I tell her my story, new plugs, fuel filter, coil for cylinder 3 and had the recall work done on fuel injector for cylinder 3 but I`m still getting the PO303 missfire cylinder 3 and sometimes the "running too lean" code. All of which I was getting prior the recall on the injector. She says there is no record of my truck being diagnosed at the dealership, I have access to an OBD reader so why would I pay ford $130 to use theirs and get the same readings, she agrees. However, she says without a diagnostic being done by the dealership, they wouldn`t know what is wrong. She also says that the dealership would have needed to do a diagnostic to get paid for the recall work on the injector, so apparently they did do one but they will not make it available to me. Needless to say, I was getting pretty frustrated.
So fellas, any ideas on a next step?
Went back to the service department today, and, all this hassle and one of the sparkplugs I put in, cylinder 3, cracked when I installed it. They ran a diagnostic and compression check and replaced the plug and now all is good.
Thanks to all that helped with their ideas and input, this site definitely is a wealth of knowledge and helpful people, thanks again.
