roof rack - safari style

Can anyone recommend the most solid, best looking safari stye roof rack with spare tire holder?

Where do you put your full size spare when you're running 35s?

Thanks
Charlie

I will be putting on 35s at some point and had thought about putting the spare in a roof mount. Then I realized how much a 35 inch tire mounted on a wheel would weigh.

Now I am looking for a rear mount.

I agree with Ben that you might want to rethink a roof mount. Not only would you need an overbuilt roof rack (propbably custom fab'd) but you would also need a ladder to be able to access it.

I believe there was a pic on the forum last year of a lifted X in the sand that had such a setup, but i would go with a custom rear bumper with a swing-a-way tire mount.

So who makes the rear swing-away tire mounts?? Will a 33-35 inch tire fit in the normal spare tire spot??

But I still want a safari rack, I found this one by Yakima:

The stock tire is pretty darn close to 33" if not slightly larger.

Wilderness racks are well made, look good, probably priced between the Thule and the rest.

My 37" tire just barely fits where the stock spare goes.
* Remove stock spare tire.
* Remove the plastic plate at the bottom of where the spare tire goes.
* Remove the nut and metal plate that hold the spare tire in place, leave the eye bolt.
* Get a hernia lifting the friggen thing into the back.
* Use a ratchet strap to secure it into place.

OK that just made me spew Mountain Dew all over the room man.
I suppose I will indeed have to have a shop fab something up.
