I have a Weather Guard Safari roof rack, originally powdercoated. What's the best paint to use? Thanks.

 

Re-powdercoating might be the best approach, but how about prepping fairly well and using urethane pickup bed liner? You can buy like a pint or quart and use maybe a small roller or just foam brushes to apply it--or just spray it.

I actually did the bottom of a large cast iron lamp base with this stuff so it wouldn't bleed rust through to the carpet.

You might scrape a bit off with ladders but hell, you'd probably take off more paint.

Yeah WeatherGaurd actually gives how-to instructions to repaint. I thought about powder coating but I'd have to then take it fully apart so I can take it to have done. If you've ever seen one of these racks they cover the entire roof. I was hoping I took take it off in one piece, prep and paint in my garage.

Hell I can't even remember how I got it on the roof. Actually with my bulkhead there's no way I got inside the van.
