Sooooo.last night around 7-ish (I guess I'm at the end of the route) the
UPS truck stops and FINALLY drops off my two upper air-spring brackets
...eerrrrr...I mean...the CORRECT two upper air-spring brackets for the
No Limit FatBar with AirRide I ordered on JANURARY 12th......
...now this is the 3rd time......however...WITH my order I DID receive
a FREE $1109.00 T-SHIRT!...so I guess that makes it all OK...
Alright...I feel better now...kinda...the 4-bar kit looks awesome...welds are
top-flight...everything powder-coated black...except the few brackets that
need to be welded...Firestone F9000 air-springs......
...rear-mounted pan-hard bar (not on the pinion!)...
...the workman-ship is great...customer-service...not-so-much......
As far as the instructions go...this is where I stopped getting mad...they start out great (pages 1 & 2) but once ya get to page 3...well...see for
youself...
Hey, that looks like something I drew on a piece of cardboard the other day. However, in my defense, I let the dog destroy the evidence as soon as I was done with it and I made her disavowell all knowledge of the act under penalty of banning her from the shop.
Seriously, I am curious, did the chicken scratch drawings do the trick for you? I would be embarrassed to put that stuff out with the product.
Thats down right funny, to top it off I just finished helping a friend install a 4 link and airbag set up in a 55 f 100. That paticular kit was supposed to be bolt in. The owner freeked out when he saw the parts loosely and unmarked in the boxes and hired my friend to install it. We used most of the brackets, fabbed some of our own and welded it all together.
They may not be pretty but their good.
no-limit is run by a guy named rob great guy
he probably drew those in a hurry he's always busy
because he's good!
If you get stumped just give him a call
I’ve met Rob a few times, he is a great guy. He built the giveaway 56 for the 2006 supernationals and donates a chassis each year to the show.
brian...
In the defense of No Limit Engineering...I appoligize......for the dig...
but...you know...
from a company of this calibur......
ALL valid comments and points...and yes Rob MacGregor must be very busy...I never
ONCE was able to speak to him personally on the phone......but I will stand by my
original statments about this 4-link set-up...
...when I first tore open the boxes......I was VERY impressed with
what I was looking at! The intergrity of the welds, the material thickness
of the BARS & the brackets (all lazer-cut)...nice pair of DOETSCH TECH
race shocks, a coil of ail line and fittings...rather complete kit...so I guess
the mishap with the brackets can just be summed up as a failure in the shipping department...
I DID receive an email and a phone call from a general manager afterwards
and she explanded to me that the employee resposible the "mixup" is
"no longer in the employ of the No Limit orgaization"......
...Oh...the t-shirt...yea...it's killer......and they sent The_Girl a
tank-top too...of course at my "request"...
...point-set-match......time to move on...now I need compressors...
Actually , I rather like them Out in the feild I work with these type of drawings all the time . The important part is their correctness not the prettiness I like the feel of them they look well thought out some of the most complex things ive built were of similiar type drawings
I guess we ALL have our storie JUST like this one...it's just that this was
MY FIRST one......gotta take it with a smile I guess...
rdemilt...I was told I had the choice...eithe bolt OR weld the FRONT bracket to the frame...
AXracer...Imentioned that...seemed like it was not the firts time they heard it...
Old F1 & ALBUQ F-1... sad but true...
dave boley...haven't got that aryet Dave...this site will be first to see the progress...you can count on that...
53OlderThanMe...now thats just funny...
keith56_cruz_cab...thanks man...hauled the upper & lower air spring brackets out to the garage to just "eyeball" 'em for a few to get some
ideas and that got the wheels-a-turnin'...
9teen56f100...didn't know that...our first Nat's was 2008, didn't have my '56 until late 2007...
