For limited slip options you will have to change the carrier. The axle shafts and housings are the same. You will have to know how to set up the gears. The pinion depth is ok, and this will not change, but you will have to install the shims properly to make the gear mesh correct. Too tight and you ruin the gears. Too loose and the gears will whine and fail.
UNderstand how to set up the backlash, and you will be set.
There is also a lunchbox locker option that uses the stock carrier. This is very different than a limited slip, and has different manners than a clutch type limited slip, but boat ramps will never give you a problem.
A quality limited slip is a very good option. The "power lock" limited slip is not that expensive and was an option for the dana 60 axle. I run one in a couple of my D60 fronts and have had great success with them.
Thanks , I guess I better get boned up then on that axle . I may have a chance to slip a dually from a neighbor.
