Has anyone run across this? 86 F250 SC 2wheel drive 8600 GVW front rotors have a recessed center hub, according to what I found used on 85 F250 under 8500GVW. Both dual piston caliper. Supposedly the correct rotor has a raised hub which if used, my rims wont fit over the raised hub. Further checking my 86 and also have a 85 parts truck the rims wont work. I had a nice set of rims all painted etc that we were going to use on son's 89 F250, wont work. Center section of 86 rim is like 4 3/4" opening 89 rim needs to be 4 7/8" as far as I can tell. This starts to put a limit on wheel swaps.
Early 16 x 6 rims had the smaller bore diameter. Later 16 x 7 rims have the larger bore. You can fit later wheels on an earlier truck but obviously early rims wont fit a later truck.
I found this out the hard way myself after spending hours on 4 rims. I didn't notice that there was a difference until I tried to put the early style rims on a later Sterling 10.25 and they didn't fit.
