suspension question
Hello All
I've got a 51 on blocks and a 351 in waiting, but a buddy of mine is buying a 76 4x4 frame for a 2 into 4 conversion, it has a 460 with dove heads
and told me I can have the 460 for little to nothing, my question other than boxing the frame and crosstying what kind of suspension stiffening would i need..i wanted to use a ifs style.....
any help or advise would really help....

a couple of things you will need.
rear sump oil pan (get an oil pan from an mid 80's or newer truck) complete with pickup tube, main cap bolt with stud and new oil pump for same year truck as oil pan. you can get the complete oil pan kit off either epay or from your local Ford Motorsport dealer. same kit they sell for installing 460's in fox body mustangs.
stiffest springs you can get for the IFS. the 460 is one heavy beast. approx 750# so you need at least 410# springs
those two come to mind.

If you are going to use coil-over adj. shocks suspension, you can try different spring weights -- would suggest 600# coils if you want a stiff suspension .. I'm running 600 #coils on my 56 F100 front end -- its a little stiff, but very roadable (have a 350)
