sounds like your looking for the same info as I am i have a 53 f500 with a 130 inch wheel base and am thinking of building a stepside bed for it but I am having trubble finding info on the bigger f trucks hope someone can help us both
I too can go out and measure....but just got up....so after my coffee....haha
I bought a tow dolly from ksmith --just for this purpose.....to tow big trucks, and it does.
I am preparing to tow my big 56f600 and use the dolly. I need to have the ticking adjusted and have given up on doing it myself.
The dolly will tow the bigfendered truck and is heavy-duty,and I just used it for a 56 on a 1800 mile trip.
I hopefully will remember to post the size. My truck is 172--0r 175'' wheelbase......BIG!!
Appreciated! No big rush on it, but just it's just something I would need to know before driving for 6 hours there. How much would it suck to find out it wouldn't work at that point?
I just measured my dual axle 1956 F600 from outside to outside tire rin=86''.
I hauled a few f500s and f600s and I remove the outer dual wheel on both sides--so as not to be overwidth...on the highway.
I just bought a tow-dolly from ksmith203 and it is capable of hauling f600s with ease.
I hope this helps....Bill
I think taking them apart might be a good idea, am I right in thinking you remove all the lug nuts, then take the outer wheel off then put the lug nuts back on? None of my trucks have ever been duallys...
