Thanks

Yeah...do a search for Y-pipe and you'll be reading half the night.
Heck even the sticky up top is talking about it.
It would have worked on his 2000 so you should consider that you scored! Got get it put on. But see if you can dyno it before and after. That'd be cool.
Heres a link to the site for the formerly "Ebay Y-pipe". He goes by SPD performance now and sells through the site. Probably got tired paying ebay's ourageous fees that go up on a regular basis.
The steel y sells new for $80 which lasts a long time especially if you keep paint on it. Not shure if theres any difference between the excursion and F-series y-pipes.(Don't think there is)
Get underneath and see if your Y-pipe has the necked-down portions on both down pipes where they meet. If you do, that Y-pipe will work for you.
2000 is the point where exhaust "flutter" reared it's ugly head on the V10, when they put the PI heads on the engine and upped the torque and HP.
Most of the 2000's, I think, had a regular y-pipe without the restrictions. If a customer complained about the exhaust flutter, the dealer would swap in the restricted y-pipe, and if memory serves, recalibrate the computer (re-flash) for some reason.
I believe they made the restricted Y-pipe the standard for the model year 2001 and up.
My '01 had the restricted y-pipe brand-new at the dealer. It no longer does, and it made a world of difference in the part-throttle low-RPM throttle response.
If you have a 2000 model-year truck, check out the y-pipe before trying to upgrade
I just bought the SPD Y and I have the 2000 or Ram horn design and Just by looking at the comparisons I can see that it will do well for my truck especially for the flutter ( less bends the better right?). I just wanna know what to expect from throwin it on. Because I hear a lil of everything from researching it. Thanks
