Transfer case shifter

Should I use a 99 t-case shifter or a 80's? I have a 94 f150 300 w/wb 1356 and e4od trans.

Can't comment on the 99, but the 80-86 shifters came through the floor right almost in the middle of the trans hump, not down next to your feet like the 87-96. I just made a shifter for my T18 in my '91 using a 80-86 pivot and welding on a new stick assembly, not too hard really.

A guy has a 85 bronco II t-case shifter I just wonder if that will fit, they are a lot cheaper

Thanks anyway, trying to save a couple bucks. They want around 300 for new one and used is around 200.

Sometimes I swear they build these things to break, the shifter was made out of pop metal!

No, they made it cheap so that it'd be cheap. They are perfectly strong enough to shift the transmission. However, they aren't strong enough to stop you from breaking it when you have a 2 foot lever and it's siezed so it can't move.
