block heater problem,need help

I have a 1993 f350 7.3 and I plug in the block heater and it seems to be working but when you touch the truck you get shocked. The heater seams to be electrifing the truck. I checked the cord and I cant find any brakes in it. Whats causeing this?

Most likely you have a cord issue, somewhere. Even if the ground is cut off you still should not get a shock. Plug it in somewhere else, maybe you have an outlet problem, not likey though.....Don

Sounds like a bad ground connection somewhere and a heating element in the block heater is leaking current to the heater.

Probably the element is getting ready to fry.

There should be no continuity from either of the flat blades on the plug to the truck body.

You can get the cord and block heater from O'reilly's. The cord is 13 bucks and the block heater is roughly 40 if I remeber. Make sure that the person you are talking to has an IQ above 50 because they have to look in a SPO book.
