I'm active duty Navy over here, electrician by trade, paperwork pusher and babysitter by default (at my level of position, anyhow). I am unsure where 'home' will be when I return. All depends on where the employment is, but I am hoping either Texas or Virginia. Last time I was 'home', I visited family in Texas, the time before that - while I was in San Diego, CA - I visited family in Northern California. I was living in Texas when I joined, had lived there for 10 years beforehand, originally born in California, where I lived for 10 years. Call me a mutt
I am guessing the previous owner already did the 2WD transmission swap for you. That's good news, I guess. You could probably swap anything into it you wanted - but if you got the notion to convert it to a 4x4, that will make things a little more interesting. I'd go for a 4.0 swap - either one out of a Ranger, Explorer, or Aerostar - but, you could always make it real fun with a 5.0 swap.
Ok Mutt. LOL You said ta call you one...
Anyways Ive thought about what you were saying about an I-6 as well. That to would be cool. Itd probably be easier then trying to mess with transfer cases and crap. Im really starting to like that idea of yours some one slap me. Soup it up cam it out and put it on Propane.. That d be flippin rad man.
I keep on comming up with ideas for the 2WD. This other idea is to paint the two of them up the same and then play this song real loud LOL YouTube - Foreigner - Double Vision
Too funny! If you had the right camera lens and filter(s), you could make a really interesting picture of both of them facing each other at an angle... if you had the right video camera and video editing software, you could really make an interesting video for that song!
I'll refrain from any slapping... nothing wrong with having ideas - although, putting them into action might be the hard part, depending. I was thinking of the propane thing as well - possibly for an '84 BII 2.8 project I may take up, keeping the 2.8 and building it up some and maybe fabricating an adapter or bellhousing to mate up a T-18/19 or NP435 and a NP231 tcase with a Terra-Low lower-range kit and a slip yoke eliminator kit and possibly use my Early Bronco axles for it and lift it and put it on 35s... okay, I better stop... I may have to slap myself! LOL
