recommended wire gauge

Hey, I'm about to start doing a bunch of electrical mods, but before I do, I want to make sure I've got a basic idea of what wire gauge to use?

I've been looking online, and see big variations for recommended sizes. Anybody have a website of a good table?

Here are 2 I found

but they don't line up. For example, If i want a 100A cable (100A fuse) thats 10 ft long, one says use 4AWG and the other says use 10 AWG

If anyone has a good table they use, I'd really appreciate it.

What table are you talking about? I saw one that had the maximum transmissible amps, but I don't know how to account for wire length, etc. I'm by no means an electrical engineer. I can hook up simple circuits, but I don't trust myself to determine wire gauge :P

I was hoping for a KISS table so i dont make stupid mistakes I guess.

Yea that table shows max. amount of amps for a wire and ohms per 1000ft .You will need to know amps being drawn on circuit and to be safe bump the the wire up 2 sizes.
