Blown gaskets are a result of the head bolts stretching or bolts that turned right out in your hand because they were never torqued at the factory. My heads were twisted and bowed, so we machined both heads and installed studs.
I can truly tell you if any machined head were going to blow again I would have already done it. I see no one mention they checked the block, you should also consider this when doing the repair.
i stand corrected. im just saying it could happen cause higher pressure does cause the bolts to stretch with the head lifting. but yeah your right.
sometimes ill recommend them sometimes i wont. it all depends on the customer. if i think hes going to take the studs to far and go with more mods such as a chip cause hes over excited then i wont say anything. but ill say yes for a work truck that needs it if the guy or gal has a good head on his shoulders. cause if they get over excited ill just see the truck in within the next couple of months cause he or she put too much extra money into it in all the wrong places you know?
