Do I Just Give Up??

Well as some of you know, I've been having some issues with a pesky oil leak on my 05. It all started with replacing sensor o-rings and after about 4 trips to the dealership to find they leak and they end up saying it's the bedplate. They go through with the repair which included removing the cab and engine to replace the bedplate but i was under the truck today and wouldn't you know....the hanging drop on the bell housing has reared it's ugly head again. while fixing the bedplate, they replaced most of my other seals and o rings. do you think it's just residual from the original leak and replacement of fluids from the bedplate fix or something is still leaking?? either way...i've been to the dealership a total of 6 times in the last 2 mo and they've had my truck a total of 20 something days since dec. should i just accept that this thing is going to have some kind of a leak (very small to say the least) and try to forget about it or try ANOTHER dealership?

Take a look through your wheel wells at the glow plug harness's. They are another common place for oil leaks. Right above the exhaust manifolds.

It doesn't matter where it is coming from, they were supposed to fix it. If you can spare the truck I would take it back to them and tell them to fix it right. These trucks can be leak free with the right tech working on it.

Wash everything off real good with some degreaser and a hose and drive it a week or two and see what happens. Couple be residual seaping out of nooks and crannies. It can be hard to get it all out at times.

your probably feeling a little discouraged right now. i've been there myself, i know. BUT your gonna want to get that fixed. oil leaks don't go away by themself, they usually get worse with time and every day you pull in your driveway you'll be reminded of it. but like a few other of the responses, i'd spend alot of time on FTE and see it you can find it yourself for now, could be something new and an easy fix.
good luck.

Well, look on the bright side: My dealership- the ONLY dealership within 90+ miles, takes 3-5 weeks just to get around to LOOKING at my truck once I drop it off... and I have to leave it there the whole time... then, 1-3 weeks LATER (4-8 weeks TOTAL after dropping off the truck) I get to pick it up again... and still have the same problem

that might be the understatement of the year lol! It's been about 4 weeks since i picked it up for the bedplate leak. today is the first time i noticed the hanging drop so i cleaned everything off again and i'll check it in about a week or so (knowing me i'll actually probably check it every friggin few hours) i hope it's something residual but i would have thought that all that anything left over would have been gone by now. guess we'll see.

I've had decent assistance from Metro Ford in downtown Dallas with my personal truck and my crew's Service Truck. It's down on Irving Blvd off of I-35 and Medical Center Drive? (old Motor St), turn right and it's on the left.

Yep... but I'm in San Angelo(+-200 miles from Dallas)... normally, I've been having to take my truck to either Abilene, or Lubbock... they get to it FAST, and take care of the problems fast... but the San Angelo dealer is S L O W, to say the least.

I'll drive my truck to Dallas to Metro Ford before I'll put it in the shop here in San Antonio. They're 2nd generation on hind legs in that place!!
