They always say don't be a hero. Don't get involved. Just do what they say, etc. I suppose that's good advice, but I wonder if what we really need are more hero's. Perhaps we'd have less crime if criminals knew that they were probably going to meet resistance.
There is some poor guy I saw on the news yesterday who got involved. He is (was?) an employee at McDonalds and stopped some guy from beating on his girlfriend. He got shot for his trouble and now McDonald's health insurance is refusing to pay his $300,000 in medical bills. It's sad really.
I once read a story about a guy who "went postal" with a large hammer at a metal fab. shop, actually killed one co-worker and injured another before his lights were put out permanently by another worker who retrieved a 9mm pistol from his car....Guess its time to start registering hammers, so don't be surprised if theres a 3 day waiting period at your True Value store soon for that "hi capacity assault-Hammer".

B.A.T.F.H....Bureau of alcohol, tobacco, firearms and hammers, sounds like a good convenience store to me!
When I was 17, I was 6'4", and weighed 150 pounds. My store manager stood me in front of the sliding glass doors and told me to grab the guy if he came my way. I assumed it was another shoplifter. The shoplifter was about 6' and weighed about 275. He came straight at me, so I dug in and wrapped my lanky arms around him. When my feet touched the ground again we were standing outside the store. The guy told me I best let him go because he knew were I worked and the orange truck I drove. He then stated he would be out of jail before I get off. He convinced me and I let him go telling him to have a great day.
He stole a bottle of jack. It really wasn"t worth the threat that the chain stores expect for a 10.00 bottle. The stores will never acknowledge your loyalty.
I say do whatever your instincts tell you....Fight or Flight or submit....Whatever.....
All I know is, there's plenty of examples of people who were totally compliant who were gunned down for no reason whatsoever except that brain-diseased POS decided he wanted to hear the sound of the gun go off.....
A clerk in the Twin Cities stopped a potential robber with a hammer -- actually with 2 hammers.
He apparently smacked the guy, and then tossed that hammer at him. Then he grabbed another hammer and the guy fled.
Never rob a hardware store!
How often gun shops get robbed during business hours?

I've got my eye on a 3lb short handled sledge hammer!
Only carpenters should have hammers!, no civilian should ever have need of a hammer! And no one should ever need more than 1 hammer, hammers are a scourge on our streets and must be stopped!..............Please write your congressman, and stop the rhetoric of the N.H.A (National Hammer Association) and get these unregistered hammers off our streets!............Sponsored by, People against hammers..PAH!
