All I can say is that the 6.4 blows away the '05 Duramax I had, and the '01 8.1 Gas Burner. The truck outperforms the '01 2500HD and the '05 3500 Chevy's by a large margin. My experience, my opinion. Never messed with a Dodge truck, probably won't now that I have a Ford that I like.
DPF delete kits are getting more and more attractive every day, heck for 400 bucks I can rid mine of a DPF and get more HP and better fuel econ.
See I can supposedly do this and rid my 6.0L of all its ailments, BUT this voids the bumper-to-bumper warranty...besides, maybe I'm the only one here who thinks this but why the hell should I buy a truck for $40K+ and have to spend more money and void my warranty just to get a reliable truck?
If we do the DPF delete on our trucks though the warrenty is out right? I'm assuming you do the delete and must use a programmer that is also detectable.

Yep, and it against federal EPA laws...not sure what the fine is though...something like $10k?...not street legal at all.
I believe I read it's $2,500 fine for the truck owners w/o emission components (if caught w/o) and a retailer selling the DPF deletes is $25,000 if they are reported.
Bobby - Are there no sensors on the DPF? How does the truck know when the DPF needs cleaned? On the Ford, the truck will eventually do a default regen and if I remember right will basically get stuck in regen. How is the Dodge different? The computer has to do a regen at some point even without the DPF in place.
bczolone - are you referring to your 6.0? The 6.0 doesnt have a DPF and doesnt require a tuner to remove any part of the exhaust. Maybe you meant 6.4, or maybe I missed your point (good possibility, I ran out of smart pills 3 days ago)

I'm referring to the EGR delete and EGR cooler on the 6.0L. If that were done you'd need a tuner to keep the truck out of a default mode initiated by some sensor...forget which...and to keep the CEL off.
