Got another question here for ya. I was trying to replace the fuel filter on my truck today and one of the fuel line connecting lobes broke off the canister filter housing. My truck is an 85 swb with dual tanks. So the in line filter is in a container bolted to the frame with 2 inlets and 2 outlets for fuel lines, one of which is now broke off. While I'm typing this I've got other Windows opened to NPD, LMC, and JCW and haven't had any luck finding a new one of these. No luck on ebay either. I did't want another old one off a truck as I figured it would probably be just as brittle. Guess I'll have to hit the dealership with hope tomorrow. Any ideas as to where else I could find a new one?
Tried all them parts stores and wound up calling dealerships today. I got a hold of a really knowledgeable guy at a dealership who finally was able to come up with a discontinued part# and then pulled an inventory and found 3 of these in old stock. The closest was about 100 miles away. We've got a really good guy here at the local NAPA who ordered the part from that dealership for and will have it here tomorrow for $10 shipping, that beats me driving a 200 mile round trip for it easily. For those of you that are interested the part # is #E6TZ9K044A and the price is $88.95+shipping.
I looked at the Autozone computer here myself and there wasn't a part even close there. I was told by the clerk there that it was a dealer item as well. Who knows? That's how my luck goes.
