Brake controller wiring help
ok very new with the f350 psd forum. i had a 2000 expedition with the towing package. took my controller out of the expy plugged it in the truck not so easy it seem to be different wiring. so re wired it with the f350 plug. is this right factory plug and reese contoller red to red white to white black to black and blue to blue? any help would be great i got no paper work with it and took a stab at it. thanx alot mike

There should be four wires, Power, Ground, Brake cold and brake trailer. I believe the industry color code is Power=Black, Ground=White, Brake Cold=Red and Brake trailer=Blue. The new harness should have tags with what each do. So it's just matching up the harness' color code to the controller's color code.

The wiring harness should be able to be un-pluged from your Ex and plug direct into your 350. Matter of fact it should hold true for any Ford truck from F-150 up to the F-550 including the Excursion and Expediton. Did you purchase the 350 new or is it pre-owned? If pre-owned it could be a few different things. Are all of the relays and fused installed inline correctly?
