Ok well like I said I was skeptical that it was a 31 spline rear end. Aslo so called bullet proof 9" is a just a voodoo axle. Maybe great for a nascar, but in the application that it is used in, it most likely won't last long.

There are guys that can destroy a 31 spline 9" in minutes out running trails.

actually most of the F150 stuff in the 70s and early 80s was 31 spline. I have 3 sets of 31 spline axles out in my garage I kept for spares in the mud drag truck (900+hp and 39.5 cut boggers on stock axles and never broke one)

I have actually setup one for a drag racer that had 40 spline axles and several with 35s.

Strange statement, which shows how little you know about the subject of Ford 31 spline 9" rearends.

Well looking at the truck for sale, seems like it was made for either a desert racer, or he wants to rock crawl. Which we all know the ford 9" is the end all be all of rear axels for Rock crawling. That is what I am basing my comment off of.
Also looking at what was posted 428scj heads on a 460?

doesn't know what he has huh? First 428 CJ, then PI heads etc LOL

That is the proper casting number for 429CJ/SCJ cylinder heads BTW.

The under valve cover number should mean cast Aug 3rd 1969 if my recall on decoding casting date numbers is correct.
