I have stepped into the big block era. I just bought a 78 f350 ranger 460 extra cab 2wd camper special in great shape. Jumped in and drove it 120 miles home, did great. Has a electrical issue I'm going to have to fix. No dash lights except a perminent right turn light and when I put on the brights the headlights go out. That sounds like a dimmer switch to me. I know (pics) hopefully the weather will be nice enough for me to take some. I have a 60 f100 short bed flareside with a 223 I'm going to be selling uuuuuhhhhggggg. I've had her for 12yrs.
Just thought I'd pitch in, when my truck had a permanent right turn light (funny it was the same side) it was my socket in the front for the turn signal. The gound was all corroded (sp?) Once I put a new socket in it solved that. Good luck though, sounds like you have some "fun" ahead of you
I need to sell the 60 to do a little fixing on the 78 and I want to get a fifth wheel or camp trailer. Sorry, I wasn't able to take pics. I did find out why I didn't have brights on the headlights. When I hit the dimmer switch my head lights would go out. They were both burnt out. That was an easy fix.
I have too agree with that one!
