I have read many links in the forum pages but have not found the answer yet.
I have a 2002 e350 v10 econoline and I want to install an isolator for a dual battery system to power the house battery. I have read that some types of alternators after 1998 need an isolator that has the 4th "exciter" wire connected. My 200 amp Cole Herse only has 3 connections and no exciter connection.
I have read all the debates about diode isolators vs. solenoid vs. the super fancy solenoids. I am dont want to start another thread on that subject.
I am interested to find out if my particular alternator requires the isolator that needs the exciter to work correctly.
I hope there is an experienced person here in the forum that can help.
Thanks
