Possibly a dumb question

I have an 03 F250 with ESOF but the AUTO and LOCK are worn off of the hubs. Which direction is AUTO and which is LOCK?

I recommend referring to the owner's manual... if you have one.

Turn to the right (clockwise) to lock.

You say turn to the right, clockwise to lock, however the picture in the manual shows turning to the right to be auto. Unless I'm just being a ******* and looking at it wrong...

Just checked, counter clockwise to unlock. To check that they are unlocked, reach behind the tire and see if you can rotate the spindle. If you can you have hubs unlocked.

On my hubs, I have marked the unlock position with a tiny scratch on the outer edge.

The picture in the manual is misleading IMO. Clockwise is locked, CCW is auto.

Things look a little odd, but it's right.
