First off I'm a first time user so sorry if I screw something up! I have a '97 f-350 psd and I think I am having a problem with the PCM. My truck sat in the driveway for a couple of weeks in the rain. One morning I started the truck and the wts light would'nt go off. About half way to work the wts light went off and the truck went into limp mode then died. I got it home (on the hook) and checked the gpr and everything works fine. I pulled out the PCM and water was sitting in the case. I dried it out and cleaned the contacts for my chip and put it back in. The truck seems to run fine, shifts a little funny and still no wts light. I had the codes pulled and i got a P0381, P0605, P1395, and a P0603. Can someone please tell me if reflashing the computer would fix the problem or do i need a new PCM?
Welcome! Do you have a friend with a powerstroke? If so try using his pcm and see if it helps. Also try driving with the chip unplugged. I dont think anything good comes out of them getting wet.
Thanks! I dont have any friends with powerstrokes and I pulled the chip and no difference. I pulled the bulb and checked the wireing and all seems to be fine
DTC P0605 exists only when there has been an internal failure of the powertrain control module (PCM).
Rerun Scan Tool Diagnostic Test.
Is DTC P0605 retrieved?

Thats kinda what i was thinking. Do you guys know of where to get a fairly cheap one. I was thinking of maybe ordering one from dp tuner and do you know if a simple flashing would fix the problem
