C6 kickdown
I got a 1973 460 with C6 i bought for my 1964 f100. It didn't come with a kickdown linkage or with a carburetor. I was wondering if i could run the engine without the kickdown cable. I heard it would burn up the transmission, but I was thinking of putting in a shift kit in the tranny. Would i still need the kickdown cable if i had a transgo stage 3 shift kit that shift manually? thanks

A C6 can be run with or without a kickdown connection. Without it won't have a full throttle kickdown. It will still kickdown on low vacumn. Make sure the link in the transmission is in maxumum clockwise rotation or it won't upshift properly.
