Brake controller help
My 2007 f-250 has the tow command brake system, but I have been having problems with it. I thought it was the trailer, but now im thinking its the controller?? The controller will show a "TBC fault" on the dash and the braking system shows its connected then will loose it on and off. there are no wires loose and everything has been checked. the brakes work..but the system is not working and a ford dealer can not clear the fault, it keeps coming back. any ideas, or has anyone seen this before??

the message centre display. Is this what you are seeing?

I don't have warranty having imported vehicle to the UK.

Yes, we've an IBC on its way - very expensive - but it would be good to know if its a bad controller or if something on the truck has killed it.
The fault code for IBC shows C2806 (Brake output short to vehicle battery). This could even be the blue wire shorting at the 7-way socket.

thankyou guys... all the help is great! My truck is also out of warranty, but it is going back to the Ford dealer on monday for another diag. check. John, I have not seen that fault yet...but i believe that we are having similar problems by the information in your post earlier. (thanks for the direction to your post, it helped).
to replace the TBC, is that something that can be done myself? if that is what the problem is?

Hi - did you take your truck for diagnostics on Monday. Anxious to hear outcome as I think our truck has the same complaint and hasn't been fixed yet.
