Probably not, Don..... I would bet on Chrysler biting the big one way before GM, but the way things are going, I guess anythings possible.

Doomed? No. Busted in rank? Yes.

Probably from General Motors to Major Motors...maybe even Captain Motors.

I say let them fail Take the money that we're going to loan to them anyway and never get back and use it to fill up the pension fund. At least that way the little guy doesn't get screwed out of his retirement.

One of them has got to go in order for the other 2 to have a chance. Sales numbers like they want are a pipe dream.

If any of the three fail, all three fail, and probably all the transplants, too. Automobile production in this country will probably end. So will our high standard of living. It will make 1929 look like the good old days.

The suppliers the every automaker in this country use generally supply more than one company. If they lose the the business from one many of the suppliers will fail and not supply the other automakers. That shuts down plants of everybody. It will be a major domino effect, and everybody goes down.

Personally I doubt it. The others will pick up the sales of the fallen and life will carry on. We've lost automakers before.

The USA is not just one company or one industry. We can't prop up failure forever. There might be some hard times, but we'll pull through.

Have any of you read some of the hypotheticals that GM needs to return to profitability? Read up on this.
