Question Replacement Third Brake / Cargo Light

Does anyone know where to get a new replacement 3rd brake light with cargo lights for a 95 F150? For a long time no one had them except the dealer. Then NPD had them. Now NPD doesn't have them. I'm not interested in the cheapo looking LED ones on ebay. Where else could I find one?

F4TZ13A613A .. Lamp Assy / Still available from Ford

MSRP: $197.97 // FTEpartsguy.com price: $142.54.

FTE Sponsor: FTE Parts Guy: Ed Olson @ PARR FORD in Bremerton WA

(Ed's on vacation, will not be back till February 26th)
---------------------------------------------------
Even though the lamp still available from Ford, obsolete parts vendor GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has four: 800-543-4959.

You might call GREEN and ask them how much.

Thanks for the info numberdummy.

quicklook,
I would but all the salvage yard ones are yellowed and faded and cracked etc. They all look like this ebay one.

eBay Motors: 96 Ford Bronco 5.8L CENTER THIRD BRAKE LAMP LIGHT (item 220363095121 end time Mar-18-09 11:50:48 PDT)

I can't believe that TYC or Keystone etc that makes headlights and tail lights doesn't make it. I agree that it is pricey. I bought a new one from the Ford dealer about 4 years ago, because I couldn't find a good one anywhere else.

Did'ja call Green Sales and ask them what they wanted for theirs?

Prolly not, cuz they're on EST, so it'll be a couple of hours before they're open.

Not too many people will be calling an obsolete parts vendor for this lamp, since it's still available from Ford.

Then there's this option:

F4TZ13A613A replaced F2TZ13A613A, which is now obsolete.

Only one Ford dealer has F2TZ13A613A, and since it's obsolete, the dealer can no longer return it to Ford....so is STUCK with it.

BERGE FORD in MESA AZ has it.

You might be able to buy it at dealer net.

The reason for replacing this time around is that it gets water inside it and is cracked.

I agree that there probably isn't enough demand for it to be produced by the aftermarket guys like TYC etc.

Whats the difference between the 2 part numbers?

F2TZ was the original part number for '92/93, replaced in 1994 with the current part number.

What the change to the lamp is, if there was any, I dunno.

Retired: So I don't have any way to compare the two.

I do know that Ford is notorious for updating 10's of 1000's of part numbers a year. Most for reasons unexplained.

If that other part number is one that is just clear and for 92-93, then it must be only a cargo light. If that is the case then it will be too small for the hole in the cab roof. In 94 they added the 3rd brake light, like quicklook said.

BCHauler, I am PMing you.

Number Dummy, I didn't have a chance to call Green Sales. I might try to call them on Monday.

The cargo light only uses one bulb.

The combo cargo light/high mount brake light uses three bulbs (One #921 / Two #906).

The in-house Ford Dealer Parts Locator System says F4TZ13A613A replaced F2TZ13A613A.

NumberDummy,

I guess maybe it is the same light then.

I wonder if the new number is improved or something. My original one melted and broke around the brake light bulb.

The one I have now hasn't done that, so maybe it is the newer part number.

I'm going to check with Green on Monday and see what they are asking for the ones they have.

BCHauler,

Did you get my PM?

Napa part 6804217 is as close as I have found. Only difference is the Rev light sockets are slightly larger and wont fit in hole unless you shave them
