Question OASIS Report - Decode?

Ok, I've gotten a couple of OASIS reports now (THANK YOU!!!). These things rock!

I think I've got most everything of interest figured out, but do have a few Qs:
1. Is there any place on here to determine the trim level (XL, XLT, Lariat, etc)?
2. Is there a way to determine if the vehicle has CA emissions?
3. Anybody know WTF the VOC/EOC reports? I see a repeat of part of the VIN and the selling state, but not sure about the rest...
Sample:

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD>

W312EB496761723 L 331 01L7037 BK EH 36D1Z43 2NVET 21UF8RTSM B 71H169794V Z1 R 8HA 4 8 F
</PRE>
</TD></TR><TR><TD>

1FTS8 4 H 618A 9F6NV
</PRE>
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></P>
Any help appreciated!

The garb you posted makes no sense to me at all. I don't know if there is a way to tell trim level and Cali emissions from OASIS, I don't think there is but I could be wrong.

If you can post the entire report here, some of the others may be able to help you out.

I wonder what that is about??? The report looks clean, that truck hasn't hardly been to the shop at all. Got any pics or more info on it? Sounds like a nice rig!

Your "Vehicle Certification Label" should contain enough information from which to decipher what you're looking for. IIRC... it is the label on the driver side door or driver side door post.

Same here, but it's been the same on every one I've run for the 7.3 (well, all TWO of 'em!)

Tell me about it. VERY clean. But the ****** sold it out from under me. I was ready to give him full asking price, too...

Great link, Pete - THANKS! (bookmarked!). Unfortunately, online classifieds rarely have the VCL posted. I feel lucky that the VIN is getting more popular.

Once I physically SEE the truck to have access to the label, I can tell what I need before I open the door!

btw, once I *do* get me a truck, you're high on my list of contacts! Love the filter covers!

Jim- lucky for you it's a buyers market right now, another good deal will come along. Craigslist is a good place to look if you haven't tried it already.

Thanks, I'm trying to be patient, but it's definitely NOT one of my strong points...

I'm living on CL, AutoTrader and Cars.com. Tried AutoShopper, but that appears to be mainly NE oriented.

At least it's not like the $ sitting in my bank account would actually be making anything if it were invested in the market, so I shouldnt feel TOO bad!

Jim:

Thanks for the compliments, and I'm glad you like the link... lots of good reference info there for sure.

What Chase says is absolutely correct, too... I had to wait a while when I finally got serious about buying, but it was because it was a seller's market at that time and I couldn't travel from the 90 miles frmo Beaumont to Houston fast enough to even catch a glimpse of the most desirable trims and packages.

Be patient... it's worth making sure you're not getting stuck with some dingleberry of a truck that's been abusively abused!

I went through the same thing a year ago... daily on AutoTrader, CL, every place I could think of looking. I ended up finding my SD sitting on a lot believe it or not. We were driving by this dealer to go look at a different truck which was slightly above our budget but exactly what I wanted when I spotted a gold crew cab sitting at a lot so I spun around. Drove it, liked it, bought it! I got a good deal (at the time) too... about $4.5k under book.

Similar to you, Chase, I found mine after finding out that every one on my list (all 6 trucks) had been either sold or was NOT in decent enough condition to buy, and I ended up getting one which was 2 years newer (and more expensive) than I had planned for. I managed to get mine at almost auction price, though, because they were taking it out to auction the next day.

All in all, I bought my truck with no knowledge of the OASIS report options, but did review the Autocheck reports and did my own uneducated inspection, and am fortunate to have found a good, clean truck. I've been very happy with it!

Sounds encouraging. I've got an auto broker friend of mine looking, too.

Wx is supposed to be good on Tue, think I'm going to head to a local dealer Ponyboychris PM'd me about and see what they've got.
