Ok, I am getting ready to replace the hardware and self adjusters in the back end of my SRW 350. Does anyone have a write up or advice on how to do it? Do I use the same hub nut socket on the rear? How about torque on the hub nut? Torque on the axle flange bolts?
My f350 srw brake drum will seperate from hub. May need kroil to loosen, also may need to back off shoes.
I have no idea what you mean. I have never dealt with a one ton before. I am used to just sliding the drum off the studs. what is the procedure to doing the brakes on it?
Pull the wheel (same lug nut size as front), the drum will slid off the hub, you don't pull the center axle shaft bolts. Its the same as 1/2 ton rears. Do one side at a time so you can reference the other side if you forget how it goes back together. Also check parking brake arms, mine froze up one time. I hope I didn't confuse you. Some heavy duty trucks require the axle shaft to be removed, not the case with my 96 f350.

Oh, wow, thats cool! I had to pull the axles in my old suburban it had a 14 bolt. So can I access all the parts with out pulling the axle/hub?
Wow that was a piece of cake compared to the front! I did notice that the parking brake arms were sticky. I disconnected the cables to eliminate the arms. So it looks as if I need new parking brake cables. Just the two rear ones. The front is fine. Any idea on where to get the best price on these?
Auto Zone & all the major ones have them. Auto zone's are made in the US & were less than 30 bucks each if I remember correctly. The wife's ranger were 20 bucks & less ( just did them last week)
