03 Ford Ranger Problem???????
whenever i start up my ranger i recently have been getting this weird tiny shake/jolt with a noise every minuete or so. This happens when the truck is idleing and when driveing.
the shake isnt huge but you can definatly hear the creek and feel it shake a little bit.
what is this?

What engine do you have? Automatic or manual transmission? 2 or 4 wheel drive? Have you checked U joints. Does the creak seem to be engine related, driveline, steering or suspension related? Does the CEL light up? Have you checked for trouble codes? When were wheels last balanced?

Sounds like the a/c clutch cycling on/off . The A/C cycles in many of the climate control settings not just the A/C setting to lubricate the seals in the compressor. When the clutch engages it makes a definite thunk and the timing is approx every minute or so.

Yup Wendell, the A/C compressor cycles & works in all positions except "Vent" & "OFF", so thats why I suggested he try turning the system to "OFF" & see what happens with the noise.
