Update ficm replaced
Ford did find my FICM to be bad as well as they replaced the rear main seal due to it leaking (all 04-07) run the risk of a rear main leak.
anyways, they kept my truck a week due the the FICM being backorder, I picked up my truck and it drove alright. there is a slight 1 or 2 second pause when you shift from park to drive or vica-versa not always but often. So i desided to put my programmer back on, because in stock form the truck is kinda a dog, you know what i mean. We'll not so fast, the programmer is on and the shift points are firmer and longer but no real power. so whats the deal now. I scanned for a DTC and what do you know I have a new one.
P0487- exhast gas, recirculation throttle position control circuit. AHHHHH
I know they reflashed the FICM it has its own software but the programmer dosen't work now.
What am I to do, go ask the dealer why my programmer doesn't work on the truck? ha ha I dont think so.
Any suggestions?
My dealer did a good job too, its just the hassels of running a tuner I guess. As for the FICM low voltage seems to be the killer, so please check your batteries and alt. often, a friends went out 2 weeks before mine and it cost him 1600.00 to fix it.
I hope this helps someone else, like this site has help me in the past.
